Determining long-term durability and fatigue durability of fastening and sealing units is a complex technical problem. Theoretical methods are insufficient to obtain a full picture of the phenomena occurring in structures. On the other hand, experimental researches give only particular results and are less suitable for the research purposes because they are labour-consuming. Meanwhile, the nomenclature of materials subject to approval has grown considerably in recent years. All this makes developers of fastening and sealing units turn to model researches. This process demands new techniques and equipment realizing these techniques.

R&PC “Altech” specialists have developed the “Experimental Technique of Durability Determination of Fastening and Sealing Units” (МУ.АТ-015-2006), and developed measuring equipment (thermal autoclave) to implement this technique. That gives an opportunity to experimentally determine long-term and cyclic durability of fastening and sealing units according to the results of three measurements in the thermal autoclave.

This technique has been approved within the framework of individual agreements with shipbuilding industry enterprises; special test samples of fastening units have been created, and good results have been obtained.

R&PC Altech LLC is ready to carry out works in determining universal dependencies between the long-term durability time, as well as fatigue durability of real objects and acting stresses.
